Morphing from pencil and paper to technology-based language testing and marking has been happening for many years especially in the reading and writing components, however efficiently scaling speaking and listening components have traditionally proved challenging. Recent developments in synchronous video/audio technology along with bio-credentialing and live monitoring have opened up new possibilities for secure and verified testing solutions at scale. Application of artificial intelligence allows for a unique assessment path for each test-taker, and moving beyond language basics to assessment of skills and capabilities for courses or scholarships.
