In 2021, French Polynesia had the highest global prevalence of diabetes. Other countries with over 25% prevalence include Mauritius, Kuwait, Marshall Islands, and New Caledonia. High diabetes rates in these regions are attributed to genetic predispositions, dietary habits, sedentary lifestyles, and limited healthcare access, contributing to significant public health challenges.
