The adoption of electric vehicles has led to a gradual reduction in global oil consumption. A significant surge was observed between 2019 and 2020, marked by a threefold increase in oil displacement to 12 billion litres. By 2022, the trend escalated further, surpassing 24 billion litres of gasoline-equivalent displaced, demonstrating the effect of electric vehicles in curbing non-renewable fuel depletion and emissions.
