29 Sep 2022
In 2022, China was responsible for nearly 30% of the world’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, making it the largest emitter globally. This amount is almost three times that of the United States, which ranks second. China's rapid industrial growth and heavy reliance on coal for energy are key factors driving its high emissions levels.
