WHO
31 May 2023
South Sudan had the lowest share of governmental health expenditures in 2020 at 2.1%. This indicates that the country's government allocated a minimal portion of its budget to healthcare services, reflecting potential challenges in providing adequate health infrastructure and services to its population. Other African nations with low public health expenditure included Nigeria and Uganda. Similarly, South Asian nations such as India, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan have low health expenditure as well.
